Mirror Lake 1-23-07

Posted by cruisingat82 (2007-01-25)

With my renewed enjoyment to hike/backpack/get in the woods, for no other reason than it feels good to be out there, I bought snowshoes and did my first snowshoe hike to Mirror Lake on 1-23-07.  The trail is packed, so I could have hiked to the lake without snowshoes but a little slick in places so they did come in handy.  Trekking poles will help if you don't have traction on your shoes.  We didn't venture past mirror lake so not sure what the other trails are like.

This stretch of weather has given us some great days to be out there.  Sounds and looks like you are off to a fast start with the 'shoes!

I agree with the poles comment.  I always find my poles very useful when I go snowshoeing.
