Driving Directions

From where the exit lane of Hwy 217 joins Highway 26, drive 15.1 miles to the junction with Highway 6 near Banks.

Turn left onto 6 for Banks and Tillamook. Highway 6 runs for 51.7 miles into Tillamook.

Turn left at the second traffic light in Tillamook onto Highway 101 for Newport and Hebo.

Proceed 11.3 miles south on Highway 101, and then turn right onto Sandlake Road for Cape Kiwanda, Pacific City, and the Sand Lake Recreation Area.

Go 4.4 miles, and make a left turn for Pacific City and the Sand Lake Recreation Area, staying on Sandlake Road.

Head south along the shore of Sand Lake for another 3.5 miles, and turn right for Whalen Island and Clay Myers.

Go 0.2 miles, and keep right at a junction for the Clay Myers State Natural Area at Whalen Island (Keep left for the county campground).
