Hikes starting here

Driving Directions

Drive I-84 east to Exit 62 for West Cliff Drive and West Hood River. Turn right after exiting for West Hood River.

In 0.2 miles, turn right onto Mt. Adams Avenue, which becomes Wine Country Avenue and then Country Club Road.

Go 3.1 miles to the junction of Country Club Road and Barrett Drive.

Turn left onto Barrett Drive, and proceed 1.2 miles to a four-way junction; turn right here on Tucker Road (Highway 281) for Odell and Parkdale.

Drive 2.0 miles, crossing the Hood River, and turn right to keep on Highway 281, the Dee Highway, for Dee and Parkdale.

Continue 6.3 miles, and then bear right for Dee and Lost Lake.

Go 0.3 miles, crossing the Middle Fork Hood River, and reach a T-junction. Go right here on Punchbowl Road for Rainy Lake.

After 0.2 miles, stay right at the junction with Green Road.

Drive another 1.1 miles on Punchbowl Road, cross the West Fork Hood River, and pass the junction with Green Point Road to reach a Y-junction.

Keep left here on gravel Dead Point Road (FR 2820) for Rainy Lake.

Head up FR 2820 for 6.8 miles, keeping to the main track.

Keep left at a junction and then stay right at the next junction to go 1.0 miles farther to a T-junction.

Here, turn right on FR 2821, and proceed 1.8 miles.

Keep left at a Y-junction, and drive another 0.5 miles to a pullout on the left opposite an information kiosk.
