Trailhead Template
From Oregon Hikers Field Guide
The trailhead template is probably the easiest to use. First, do a search for the name of your trailhead to make sure t's not already in the guide. If it's not, you'll have a link to "create this page". Click that link and you'll get a blank page. Next, copy and paste this into your new trailhead:

Now you have a default trailhead page. You need to edit it to the specific trailhead, you're interested in.
Categories help with indexing. Replace "AREA CATEGORY HERE" with the area the trailhead is in. Examples are "Mount Hood Area", "Columbia River Gorge" or "Southwest Washington". If there are any other categories, enter them where it says "ENTER 2ND CATEGORY HERE". Otherwise delete that line. Leave the trailheads category as-is.
The next section is the picture. If you have one, put a name in, where it says "Sample.jpg" and enter a caption. If you don't have a picture, leave this one like it is.
The next section is pretty self-explanatory. Enter the latitude, longitude and elevation if you have it. Enter the driving time from downtown Portland. Be sure to specify minutes or hours. It will probably be obvious to people, but not computers.
The "Hikes starting here" is our hike ring feature, that allows you to step through a hike, place by place. Put the trailhead name in where it says "trailhead=". Put the hike name (which should end in hike) in where it says "hike=" and again where it says "log=". Since the trailhead is normally the first point on a hike, there really isn't a "previous" and you should type the trailhead name in at "previous=". At "next=", put in the first place up the trail. That might be your destination, or it might be some intermediate point.
Fees and regulations - This is where all of the legal mumbo jumbo goes. Try to include any fees or accepted passes here. Also, any rules specific to the trailhead or area, things like permits required, no dogs, closes at dusk, no campfires, you get the idea.
Driving directions - Start from Portland. Try to include all turns, all road names and mileages between turns.
Other notes - This section will usually be blank and can be deleted. Possible uses include car prowlers, unsafe neighborhoods at night, really bad roads, winter road closures, etc.
