Description

Thunder Mountain is the second highest prominence on the Fish Creek Divide (East Mountain is the highest). The nine-legged lookout here was constructed in 1934 and decommissioned in 1964. The views range from the Washington Cascades peaks and Mount Hood in the north to the Three Sisters in the south. You can see northeast along the Fish Creek Divide to the slopes of East Mountain and Fish Creek Mountain. Across the Fish Creek valley is the higher peak of Camelback (4,746 feet). There's a good wildflower display on Thunder Mountain in the summer.
