Description

The breccia ridges and pinnacles on these steep slopes are unique in the Mount Hood area. They are the much eroded remnants of material that issued from vents millions of years ago and have been weathered into knobs and protrusions studded with bonsai-like ponderosa pines. Various stops along the Surveyor's Ridge Trail in this area will leave you with a good impression of the features.
