Description
Pumice Flat is an open pumice-covered plain below the south rim of the Newberry Caldera and just east of the Big Obsidian Flow. There is not real soil here, so vegetation cover is restricted to a few ground-hugging plants such as alpine buckwheat. The Lost Lake Trail traverses Pumice Flat.
