View down the Wild Hog valley from Mt. Baldy (bobcat)

Description

At 1,235 feet, Mt. Baldy is the highest prominence at the east end of south Eugene's hills. To the southwest are farm fields in the wide bowl drained by Wild Hog Creek. The Willamette River flows to the northeast. On clear days, you can see the Cascade crest. Views are limited towards the west.

Mt. Baldy's grassy east slopes support oaks, madrones, and wildflowers in the spring.
