Description
The trailhead is at end of Forest Road 3790, northeast of Butte Falls, Oregon. It has parking for 6-10 vehicles and a turn-around but is otherwise undeveloped, It has no picnic table, fire pit, drinking water, toilet, or garbage disposal.
Driving Directions (from the north)
From Portland, drive south on I-5. Leave the freeway at exit 30 (Highway 62/Crater Lake Highway) and proceed north on Highway 62 for 14 miles to the Butte Falls Highway. Turn right (east) and proceed 16 miles to Butte Falls. The Butte Falls Highway becomes Broad Street in Butte Falls and then Fish Lake Road east of town.
Past Butte Falls, continue on Fish Lake Road for about a mile, then turn left (north) on to the Butte Falls-Prospect Road and travel approximately 9 miles to paved Forest Road 34. Turn right (east) on to Forest Road 34 and continue 8.5 miles, past the Lower South Fork Trailhead, to paved Forest Road 37. Turn left (north) on to Forest Road 37 and go 5 miles (some on gravel), past the Imnaha Campground, to gravel Forest Road 3790. Turn right (east) on to Forest Road 3790, and continue 3 miles to the trailhead.
