Hikes starting here

Driving Directions

Drive north on I-5 and take Exit 21 for Highway 503E, Woodland, and Cougar.

Turn right at the Stop sign, and drive 27.8 miles on Highway 503 (After 23.3 miles, 503 turns south to Amboy and Battle Ground; continue straight on 503 Spur for Cougar and Mt. St. Helens).

Turn left onto FR 8100 for the Kalama Recreation Area. Drive 4.7 miles and turn left for Merrill Lake.

Drive 0.2 miles down the hill to the parking area.

  • Discover Pass required
  • Dogs on leash
  • Campground closed from mid-November to mid-May
