Description

The Mac Trailhead is off S.W. Kingston Drive just below the junction of the Mac and Wildwood Trails. It is one of the rare places in Washington Park where you can legitimately park without having to pay the parking fee.

Driving Directions

From south of downtown:

Drive I-405 north and take Exit 2A for Salmon Street and PGE Park. After exiting keep left and drive to a traffic light.

After the traffic light, go one block and turn left on Taylor Street.

Drive one block to 15th Avenue and turn left.

Go one block to Salmon Street and turn right.

Keep straight on Salmon for 0.4 miles until you reach King Street.

Here make a right and then make the first left onto Park Place.

Drive 0.2 miles to Lewis and Clark Circle, where you must go right.

Drive 0.2 miles and reach a junction. Bear right here onto Sacajawea Road.

At the next junction bear right onto Wright Avenue, and drive 0.1 miles.

Turn left onto Tichner Drive and, 85 yards later, turn right to stay on Tichner.

Drive 95 yards and turn left onto S.W. Kingston Avenue.

Follow Kingston for 0.4 miles and, past the International Rose Test Garden, keep right on Kingston at the junction with Sherwood Boulevard.

Drive another 0.7 miles on Kingston and turn right up to a gravel parking area.

Alternatives to Driving

Tri-met Bus #63 travels Kingston Avenue, but the closest stop is at the Rose Garden.
