Kincheloe Point

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Revision as of 04:05, 7 February 2014 by Bobcat (Talk | contribs)

Outhouse at Kincheloe Point (bobcat)

Description

Kincheloe Point is at the north end of Bayocean Spit. Across the channel is Barview. The point is protected by a wall of riprap to allow for secure boat passage into the waters of Tillamook Bay.

The point is not the northernmost part of the spit. Since the construction of the South Jetty, a sand flat has built up on the south side of the jetty wall that has extended the peninsula northward.
