Driving Directions
Drive I-5 north to Exit 88 for Highway 12W, Aberdeen, and Tenino.
Turn left after exiting for Rochester and Aberdeen, and drive 25.5 miles.
Turn left here at a junction for Elma and Aberdeen to merge and continue on Highway 12W. Proceed 21.8 miles into Aberdeen (After 21.0 miles, you’ll merge seamlessly with Highway 101 in Aberdeen, where you may experience a slowdown in traffic).
Next, turn right on Alder Street for Highway 101N, Hoquiam, and Port Angeles. In 3.1 miles, after crossing the Hoquiam River Bridge, make a sharp right to stay on Highway 101 (Lincoln Street) for Forks and Port Angeles.
After 0.9 miles, make a sharp left to stay on Highway 101 (Perry Avenue).
Now drive 89.7 miles on Highway 101, and turn right for the Hoh Rain Forest Visitor Center (Upper Hoh Road).
Proceed 12.6 miles into the Olympic National Park, and pay the entrance fee at the staffed kiosk.
Continue another 5.6 miles to a junction.
Keep left for the Visitor Center if you’re day hiking; keep right for Hiker Parking if you’re backpacking. Backpackers need to fill out Backcountry Use Permit at the Visitor Center and pay $8 per night.
