Description
The Green Lakes is an area composed of several lakes that were split apart from a single lake by volcanic sediment. The middle lake is by far the largest. It is a popular backpacking area with many camp sites, but regulations require that backpackers camp only within designated areas. The area has stunning views of South Sister and Broken Top. Some hikers use the Green Lakes Area as a starting off point to climb South Sister.
