Wilderness sign near Fourmile Lake (B. Hope)

Contents

Hikes starting here

Driving Directions

Take Exit 30 from I-5 to Hwy 62. Follow Hwy 62 for 6 miles to Hwy 140. Turn right and take Hwy 140 toward Klamath Falls for 36 miles. Turn left at the "Fourmile Lake" sign and follow gravel FR 3661 for 5.7 miles to the trailhead. Trailhead parking is to the left. There is a well developed campground at Fourmile Lake, with toilets, RV and tent campsites, picnic tables, and water, with lots of parking. It can be busy here on summer weekends.

Note that this wilderness encompasses parts of two different national forests: the Fremont-Winema to the east and the Rogue-Siskiyou to the west. The Fremont-Winema calls this the Badger Lake trailhead, while the Rogue-Siskiyou calls it the Twin Ponds trailhead.
