Wagon ruts at Echo Meadows (bobcat)

Description

The wagon ruts here at Echo Meadows, just a few miles west of the Umatilla River, once constituted several miles of the Oregon Trail across a sagebrush flat. Sometime in the 1970s, most of the ruts were plowed under prior to the creation of irrigated corn fields, and members of the Oregon-California Trails Association got together to preserve the remaining mile or so. This site is now administered by the BLM and is part of the Oregon National Historic Trail.
