Driving Directions

From Portland, head toward the coast at Lincoln City. While still on Highway 18, about 5 miles east of Highway 101, you'll pass a sign noting "Rose Lodge". Just pass this turn left on Bear Creek Road. Bear Creek Road turns into Road 17. Follow the signs on a slow, winding, narrow road about 8 miles to the trailhead.

From the south, drive through Depoe Bay and continue north. Just past the Salishan golf course, turn right on Drift Creek Road. In a quarter mile, angle right on South Drift Creek Road. Turn left on Forest Service Road 17 and drive up for ten miles to the trailhead. This is a long, slow climb.
