Crybaby-Wizard Trail Junction

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Revision as of 02:36, 18 May 2017 by Bobcat (Talk | contribs)

No misteps permitted at this trail junction (Steve Hart)

Description

This unmarked trail junction is perched on the side of the hill. The Wizard Trail climbs up from below through a gap in the wall with steep switchbacks. The Crybaby Trail, passing through from north to south, is just as narrow, but an easier walk.

If you're hiking up along the brink of Coyote Wall, the Wizard Trail branches off to the left (downhill) at the edge of the trees just above the meadows.

NOTE:It is uncertain how much of the Wizard Trail can be hiked at this time. The Forest Service is in the process of regrading and decommissioning some trails in the area based on its 2011 Master Plan. The Wizard Trail can no longer be accessed from the Coyote Canyon side, which is mostly private land. Please obey all private property signs in the area.
