From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

The Crooked River Bridge (Steve Hart)
The trail junction at the west end of the bridge (Steve Hart)

Description

This bridge is the centerpiece of the Smith Rock State Park trail system. There's a large fenced area on the east side of the bridge that serves as a helipad for emergency airlifts. There's a steep trail called "The Chute" that heads up to the Smith Rock Trailhead. A road traces out an alternate path back to the lot. The Canyon Trail follows the river in both directions.

There's another trail junction at the west end of the bridge. From here, the River Trail heads downstream and the Wolf Tree Trail goes upstream. The Misery Ridge Trail switchbacks up the ridge toward the Misery Ridge Summit.
