Driving Directions
From Portland:
Drive I-5 north and take Exit 88 for Highway 12 and Tenino.
After exiting, go left on Highway 12/Tenino Grand Mound Road and drive 25.4 miles to Elma.
Make a left turn for Montesano and Aberdeen after crossing Highway 8/12W (the Olympic Highway) and merge with Highway 8/12.
Drive 21.6 miles (Highway 12 becomes Wiskah Street in Aberdeen) and turn right onto Alder Street.
Go 0.5 miles and bear left onto Sumner Avenue (Highway 101N), still in Aberdeen.
Continue 2.6 miles on Sumner (Highway 101N), which becomes Riverside Avenue, and cross the Hoquiam River.
Make a right onto Levee Street, which quickly becomes Lincoln Street, and drive 0.9 miles (This is still Highway 101N).
Turn left onto Perry Avenue. Continue on Highway 101N for 115.1 miles, passing through sections of the Olympic National Park and the town of Forks.
Turn left onto Highway 113 at Sappho and drive 10.0 miles.
Meet Highway 112 and continue north for another 26.7 miles (Highway 112 becomes Bayview Avenue as you enter Neah Bay). When in Neah Bay, you will have to stop at one of the listed locations to purchase a Makah Recreation Permit.
Bear left on Holden Creek Avenue and go one block.
Turn left onto Fort Street and go 0.1 miles.
Turn right onto 3rd Avenue and proceed about a block and a half.
Turn left onto Cape Flattery Road, which becomes Cape Loop Road, and go 7.6 miles before turning left into the trailhead parking area.
Note: On the return, you can continue on Cape Loop Road to reach Neah Bay.
