Description

The spur to the Elk Mountain lookout site (Elk Mountain Vista Trail #647C) departs the Bluegrass Ridge Trail #647 here. On the way to the viewpoint, it passes by the 5,608-foot summit of Elk Mountain.

The junction is barely outside the boundaries of the 2006 Bluegrass Ridge Burn.
