Tumalo Falls hike accessible in December?

Post by proxie » December 6th, 2017, 7:17 pm

I'm talking the 7ish mile loop that visits other waterfalls, including Tumalo falls, and gains around 1100 feet.

I'd like to do this tomorrow Thursday December 7th, and had assumed it would be accessible, but now not so sure. Forest service stations are closed right now.

Update: Did it and it was mostly fine. Potholes in the road seem normal. Right before the main trailhead and after the last one lane bridge, a sheet of ice prevented me from going up and actually got stuck for a bit spinning out. Managed to push and get free though.

The trail itself was mostly buried in snow but fine to follow as long as you were careful. Even without footprints, a trail could be discerned. Creek crossings over logs were ok.
