Should be really nice on Mt Hood and Adams next weekend, if snow stays above timberline! Usually, when it starts to snow, mountain stay socked in clouds til winter, but now we'll get a sunny break.

I'm doing Turns All Year this year, and it looks like I needn't have "skied" down the rocks and pine needles of the lower Magic Mile last week to get in my September ski. Yay!
Believe it or not, I barely ever ride a mountain bike.

Charley, there's so much good snow up there still, if you're willing to work for it. I've seen tracks on zigzag, and unnamed snowfields. Much of it is, as you'd expect, in deep narrow gullies, but some is still in broad open expanses.

Oh, I'm sure! I just wanted to get a few turns in not-too-far from my car; that way I can spend most of the day hiking and having a more seasonally appropriate recreational day. :)

Yup. Multiple times in the regular months, but at least once per month June- September. I may get two skis in for September after all!

Pic below: sunset on the last day before the equinox.
Fitting close to a really weird summer.

Here's the next round (screenshot below). I can't recall ever seeing a September like this. Hoping this is a fluke, and we'll get a balmy sunny October.
