Larch Mt via Multnomah Falls

Post by dfs1109 » May 16th, 2017, 9:38 am

Just another quick update on the 15 miler up to Larch Mt yesterday May 15, 2017. Trail is well marked and clear of most debris and blow down, nothing you cant get around. Snow starts around 3500 but is easily crossable in hiking boots, no special gear needed. Road up to Larch Mt should be still closed given that the parking lot at Sherrard Point is still covered in snow.

Thanks for the snow report. It's good to see that the snow is finally melting.

I did this hike on May 19. Conditions were as described here (thanks!). I felt unsteady enough in the snowbanks that I put on microspikes at about 3800 feet.

Great report. I'm heading up Eagle creek to Wahtum lake over Memorial Day weekend. Hoping to not find too much snow there. Have a good week.
