Hikes with a good view of the sunrise?

Post by eeeee » July 29th, 2008, 4:35 pm

Hi everyone!

I'm sorry if this has been asked a million times before. :| I was looking for any easy-moderate (or at least relatively safe with the lack of light) hiking trails in the Willamette Valley area that had a nice view of the sunrise? Preferably somewhere near the Columbia Gorge (if that's even possible?). Thanks in advance!

Mt. Defiance has a nice view from the top, but it's probably a lot more difficult than you're looking for. Chinidere or Tomlike from the Wahtum Lake trailhead would be very good bets. Tom, Dick & Harry mountain above Mirror Lake is a great place for the sunrise.

rowena crest/tom mccall point has a nice view of sunrise as well, with a pretty easy hike.
