All good advice. Along with gaiters I would bring a pair of gloves for the boulder section. The volcanic rock is sharp and I recall using my hands quite a bit in that section. Wore holes in my knit gloves I had with me but better that than my hands. We did it seveal years ago on Thanksgiving weekend, a warm sunny day before the 1st snow fall. A very nice hike!
