Great! Now Im gonna stop at Lake Takhlakh first. Looks like when I leave there, I'll take 23 down to 8810 to 040. That sound right? That looks like the best route via google earth. And are these roads clearly marked? And when I get close to the trailhead, are there signs on 8810 for Sleeping Beauty Trail?

23 down to Trout Lake, turn right through town, turn right on 88 and then to 8810. 040 is pretty rough, some people park a quarter mile below. Stop at the ranger station in Trout Lake if unsure of your directions. 88 is washed out in the north so you can't take it from road 90. There are signs for Sleeping Beauty, it is very popular. The better views are on the east side of the narrow but long summit, but check out the west/south end past the old lookout site. Sometimes there are goats there, not frequently, but it is possible, especially if you're there later, like early evening. Take your dinner up and hang out.

Also, Tahklakh is good in the morning. At midday the sun is above the peak and it's all washed out. So get there before high noon. Then take your time and do SB later afternoon.

It's usually passable for normal cars, but if it looks dicey, just park where 040 turns off 8810 and walk up that road, it's not that far. Unless they have graded it since I was last there last year.

Ok, went to Takhlakh Lake today. Got some great pics and video. Drove down from Randle via Forest Road 23. That was a helluva ride. Half paved, half gravel, pot holes and bumps hidden in shade. It does have some nice spots to stop for pics. Im glad I made the drive down. Mount Adams is a beautiful mountain. Its a popular spot. Got crowded and loud at boat ramp so I walked around and found a nice spot away from everyone. Saw an eagle swoop down and grab a fish from the lake. That was awesome.
