Sisters Mirror Lake: Campsites Plentiful?

Post by MariposaMan » July 3rd, 2018, 1:23 pm

Does anyone know if Sisters Mirror Lake might accommodate as many as 12 tents?

A friend of mine is leading a group for an overnighter later this month. She asked me, but because my visit there was many years ago, I don't recall the approximate number of established sites.

Thanks!

In case no one else answers, I can't remember, but nearby Wickiup plain could hold 1000s of tents. I think Sisters Mirror Lake has the same type of geology, pumice plains. The map says it's level and no trees.

That lake is within the Three Sisters Wilderness. Your group would be in violation of Wilderness policy, unless every single person has an individual tent.

Groups must be under 12 people and 12 head of stock.

A friend and I spent a night at Sisters Mirror Lake a few years ago. There are a number of campsites around the lake itself, and others in the woods near the numerous other lakes in the area. I don't think you would find a single spot with room for that many people, but you probably could find a few sites relatively near each other. You would probably want to get the sites early though, as it seemed popular with the PCT thru hikers. It's a nice spot.
