Sorry, I should have said I did fun loop last year, photo from mid July 2017!

Thanks! I was gonna feel pretty silly if you responded that this hike was last week. Snow levels are variable of course depending on location and aspect, but I had it in my mind that Sunrise area hangs onto some snow pack at least into early/mid summer.

Do you all think I will need a pair of hiking boots/shoes in mid August? If the snow has melted by then I'm just going to wear my cross trainer type shoes.

I would guess it should be pretty well melted out by mid August. Still plenty of snow in the mountains currently but we've been having some warm and sunny weather and it's definitely melting. Even if there are some snow patches by then it should be soft on top so would probably be okay w/ light hikers/cross trainers.
