North Major Creek Road is marked as a county road on the Klickitat County map, all the way to USFS land. (Parcel #03111300000200)
Nevertheless I found that the road is gated at (45.7527, -121.3891) and there is a "Private Property No Trespassing" sign on a tree behind it. However as is too often the case it's not entirely apparent if that sign is supposed to apply to the land beside the road or the road itself, and the gate is only wired shut without a lock.
Is (or was) there a public right of way on this road? If no one knows, who in Klickitat County could I contact for a definitive statement?

After the gate, it passes through four different parcels of private land. I doubt there's a public right-of-way through there, and even if there is according to the letter of the law, I don't think you'd make any friends by testing it.

A lot of public roads pass through private parcels, don't they?
