Soda Peaks Lake?

Post by DannyH » January 5th, 2018, 8:39 pm

With the poor skiing conditions I'm thinking about checking Soda Peaks Lake from the Trapper Creek Trailhead off my list tomorrow. Has anyone been up that way recently? I'm assuming that microspikes will be all the snow gear I need (if that).

Thanks

- Danny

The road is perfectly clear up to the turn off for the Trapper Creek trailhead. I could have parked and hiked the short walk up to the trailhead but decided to go with my back-up plan of parking on the Wind River Highway and hiking to Bunker Hill off the PCT.

There wasn't much snow, and there were tire ruts going through it. I did the mental calculus of

Solo Hiking + Few daylight hours x (2-wheel drive + snow) - cell service = turn around stupid
