Road to Cloud Cap this weekend?

Post by DannyH » September 22nd, 2017, 11:43 am

I have a couple relatives visiting who have only seen the Timberline area of Hood. I was planning on taking them to Cloud Cap and Cooper Spur, now I'm doubting that we'll be able to drive up there. I'm guessing they wouldn't bother plowing the road this early in the season and just wait for it to melt. Anyone know how accessible that area would be on Saturday?

Thanks!

Actually I believe it's still closed as part of the Eagle Creek Fire closures

I hadn't even thought about that! Thanks Guy, that would have been a long drive to land at a closed road.

The fire closure is over, but now the road is closed due to snow - 15" I heard at the top of the road. If the snow melts, you will be able to get up there again. We have a group maintenance trip planned for the Tilly Jane Guard Station on Oct 7 and have been told by the Forest Service that the trip is on - if it stops snowing.
