Hello!
I am thinking about doing Tilly Jane to Cooper Spur this weekend but was wondering about how the gravel road leading to the TJ TH is? I've read some comments about there being some water bars and I only have a hybrid with miserable clearance (Ford CMax).
Anyone been out there lately?
Thanks!

I went up to Cloud Cap a couple weeks ago in my tiny little car, and it was actually better than I had remembered it. Minimal washboarding. Yes, there are some monstrous water bars, but you just have to slow down when you go over them.

Not to hijack this thread, but is the road past the gate passable? I also thought about hitting Coopers Spur this weekend for a hike, but wasn't sure about the access past the parking lot/gate area where the pavement ends

that's just what Adam answered
Cloud Cap is the end of the road, the trailhead for Cooper Spur
Road is a bit rough, especially the last few miles there are these huge water bars you have to watch out for, go slow

Thanks Adam - good to know!
It looks like I may be planning on parking a bit lower so I can get 10 miles in. I will probably go up the TJ Ski Trail and connect with Cooper Spur that way.
