Canyon Creek Meadows

Post by oldandslow » July 27th, 2017, 8:01 pm

I have been contemplating a day hike to Canyon Creek Meadows next week. The Deschutes National Forest is no longer updating current conditions because the person who did the updating retired and has not yet been replaced. I would appreciate advice from anyone who knows about the current conditions there.

Saw some photos earlier this week that showed it mostly melted out but still pre-bloom.

Lots of lupine and a few other kinds of flowers in the meadow a few days ago. There were so many that we could smell the lupine like it was a perfume, in several places. There is plenty of water, and a few snow drifts far back in the trees. There were mosquitos.
Believe it or not, I barely ever ride a mountain bike.
