McNeil Point...

Post by turtle » May 28th, 2016, 2:42 pm

Anyone been up there lately? Snow/bugs? Looking at tomorrow for a day hike. Sno-tels are telling me somewhere between 4K feet and 5Kfeet for snow. Oh yeah, is the road to Top Spur OK? Thanks and everybody have a great week-end. :)

The drive to Top Spur is fine, just the usual pot holes the last half mile to the trailhead.
The trail is in good shape - there's a little patchy snow for about a quarter mile past the junction with the PCT, but nothing that's an issue, and only a few small downed logs. You don't run into snow again until you are at the cut-off to go straight up to the shelter.
