Silver Star Conditions?

Post by PdxLee » April 17th, 2015, 12:25 pm

Hello!

Wanting to head up to Silver Star Mountain tomorrow morning. Hoping that someone has been up there recently and can tell me how the conditions are at the top? Much snow, if any?

I thank you in advance, not just for your help on this topic, but for all the people's posts that have inspired me to hit the trails! Many thanks!

Brad

I went up yesterday. There was a foot of brand new snow! Surely it's melting quickly now.

Coming down off of Pyramid Rock:

It looked like Colorado up there!

Update- based on a friend's facebook pictures, it's all but totally melted out, as of today! Have a good trip.

As a second question, how are the roads getting to the trailhead? Still the same or anything worse?

The road to Grouse Vista from the south (that's the best way, if you're coming from Portland) is fine for a passenger car. Just really rocky and slow.
