So Friday night Mrs. cascadehiker is reading her Sunset Magazine and comes across a picture of the Lower Falls. She immediately says "lets go there tomorrow!" Sounds like a plan to me, otherwise I'm stuck doing yard work
From east Vancouver it was approx 1.75 hrs drive time to the Lower Falls recreation area. We spent about 30 minutes taking in various views before heading up the trail.
The next mile and half was pretty level on a forested trail, mostly hugging the creek.
The Middle Falls were beautiful, but didn't have the star power of the Lower or Upper. In exchange we got a rainbow out of them.
At the Upper Falls we had the place to ourselves for 45 minutes. So glad spring is here!

Great report and pics! That is one of my favorite areas.

No snow up there - incredible! When I saw your report and pictures, I had to check the date of the repport - thought it's from last summer and somehow got bumped up In March two years ago I was skiing on the road leading to the falls (but was short of daylight to get to the falls) - on multiple feet of snow!

my interest in hiking was sparked by seeing pictures of these falls. That was back in 1994 I think. And this was my first trip here!

Way to dodge the bullet. If you can't weasel out of it next time, call it cross-training. Raking is great for the obliques.cascadehiker wrote:Lower Falls....otherwise I'm stuck doing yard work
