Table Mountain - still my favorite

Finally went back to Table after the TH reroute. Still love it - the extra 4ish (each way) just add one more challenge that the hike didn’t already feature: length. Route was easier to follow than I’d expected, and the first few miles through poison oak really cut down on the number of people at the top :D

Does anyone recall the wooden box that was affixed to the cliff side for a while back in ?? the early or mid 80s? I never found out what it was and, of course, it's been gone for years. What was it for? All I could come up with for a guess was that it was part of an attempt to reintroduce peregrines?

Now that you mention it, I remember seeing that too. I don't know what it was either.
