Mary's Peak North Ridge Trail
Mary's Peak North Ridge Trail
The year of no repeats brought us to Marys Peak via the North Ridge trail.
(After we repeated Kings Mtn because man ... the Gorge situation sucks and we needed some exercise.)
After passing the above sign from the gate, take the first right. There's a signboard a few steps up.
It's a really nice trail. (I somehow pictured it more rustic)
Even with all the downers.
This one had some psychefunkadelic fungi thing going on.
I see this type a lot.
Continuing up, we hit the junction. That's when the snow started.
4.5 miles to the top. We were a little surprised to see the parking lot ... even though we knew it was there. So we headed up a boot path in the snow to the false summit.
The summit is a fenced in tower. We didn't feel compelled. Found a nice view line just below it and enjoyed the hills.
Great to check it off the list. Highest point in the Coast Range. Missed the flowers ... but the snow was cool.

Hey Art! Looks like a great day out there. It seems like the snow wasn't too much trouble either, which is nice. To your point about the gorge, so you expect the coast range will see more traffic this hiking season? You picked a tough year for no repeats with so many trails closed, but I look forward to you discovering so real off the radar hikes.
Re: Mary's Peak North Ridge Trail
On the radar:
Flying to SLC for a couple climbs in the Wasatch.
Mt. St. Helens east and west sides. (didn't get a summit pass this year).
SoCal in the fall for San Gorgonio.
McLoughlin and Mississippi Head.
Those are the bigger plans.
Everything else we're going for is off the radar.
I'll definitely post trip reports for the more interesting ones.
