Tamanawas Falls (no) Snowshoe Hike • March 3

Post by Splintercat » March 5th, 2018, 9:30 pm

In lieu of my usual photos, here's a 2-minute video from a trip to Tamanawas Falls on Saturday:

I missed the best snow by a day or two, but still very pretty up there. I recommend arriving mid-afternoon to find parking and avoid crowds at this increasingly popular route. The upside of all the traffic is a snowshoe trail that resembles a groomed luge track, and packed hard. I left my snowshoes in the car and hiked with boot traction -- much better than snowshoes, unless we get LOT more snow up there this week.

Tom :-)

Tom,

Nice!! I haven't been up there in years and never under conditions like that so thanks so much for your effort putting this together.

Thanks, Don! Great snowshoe/spikes hike on a weekday! Very crowded on weekends for working stiffs, though...

Tom :)
