Huxley Lake & Roaring River

Looking for new hikes, we followed Lorain's Afoot and Afield Portland and Vancouver trip to Roaring River and then up to Huxley Lake (2 short hikes). We started our hike at FR 4611 from Highway 224. The "road walk" from the field guide Huxley Lake description.

The road was passable in a SUV, but slow with very deep drainage canals across the road. The hike down to Roaring River (Grouse Point Trail?) was steep but in pretty good shape. The Roaring River was roaring and we didn't think about trying to cross it. We hiked up to/above Parrywinkle (per other posts) Falls and then back to FR 4611. From there, up to Huxley Lake and back. The trail was in great condition. The falls were the highlight.
