Many possible trips in the Wallowas, for example up West Lostine, Eagle Cap, Glacier Lake, back down East Lostine

Trinity Alps is huge area, many loops. That Canyon Creek trip report. Swift Creek, Granite Lake, Deer Creek, Mumsford Basin, down Swift Creek is a favorite of mine.

Check out the field guide

Your best choice for other loops would probably be the Wallowas. On the north side, Bowman / Lostine would be an obvious choice, as well as choices out of Wallowa Lake. On the south side, the East Eagle Loop or the Main-West Eagle loop too.

US TOO! TOTALLLLLY BUMMED. Subra do you know if one can just hikes in the green lakes area and so some of the smaller southern loops? Have you ever hiked the waterfalls trail or Olallie trail or Park Trail or Bear Flat.. there are a bunch of loops over there. I wonder if they are safe from fires? I'm looking too for a solid 5-6 day hike but will be after the eclipse. Love to hear what you all choose to do. Thanks

You could hike around Broken Top, hike up to the pass between South and Middle Sisters, do South Sister,...

Those would all be really great

Yeah, think we might do Broken Top now..........

Any comments about that as an option? I've read the trip report and field guide, but always open to more feedback.

Stay safe this upcoming weekend everyone!! :)

Bad smoke from Milli fire around Broken Top. It was OK Tuesday until afternoon and kept getting worse.

Bummer! It does not look like we'll be backpacking in that area any time soon! :(
