Saddle Mountain Flower Show
Saddle Mountain Flower Show
The road to our originally planned hike is not open so we opted for Saddle instead, despite the moody weather. We arrived early and saw only 6 cars in the lot. Flowers everywhere and more to come! Lilies and onions still in bud. It turned out to be one of the nicest days we ever spent there. Nice even light for photos. Nice and cool. No flies and hardly any people at the top. The only thing missing was the view to distant mountains but Saddle itself is so unique and special that it was no big loss. By the time we headed down, the rest of the world had figured out that the weather was okay and the lot had been filled. One of the nicest days I ever spent there.
