Jerry, I'd put money on "basically I cheated" being in the version that I read before the post disappeared, which is why this whole thing seemed really odd.
Maybe this was just an exercise in guerrilla marketing for a trip report. I don't think there's been this much fuss since dog doo in bags.
Sean, in any case I'm glad to see the report back up. You'll have to forgive me for keeping an off-line copy this time.

I don't think this is guerilla marketing
I think it's better to just say "sorry, I didn't mean to be disrespectful"

Hooray, it is back! Great job, Sean! Now we can all drink Pepsi together.
Re: A waterfall or two
Glad to see you put this back up - I had briefly looked at it on my phone, but hadn't responded yet because this site isn't mobile friendly and trying to write anything on your phone is a huge pain. As always, my favorite part of your TRs is that en route to all the places you go, you always take the time to stop and appreciate the little things. I think these 2 photos were taken in the dark? So were you using flash? They turned out great!Sean Thomas wrote:

Re: A waterfall or two
Thx Sean for reposting, your trip reports and adventures are quite popular, I find them interesting and you've a good eye for photography, especially the little things. I think the 50 waterfall challenge should be a thing and what is needed are 50 named waterfalls that satisfies even the most critical observer. I might be able to do 20. Here's a list of 50 names I just threw together, in no particular order and there may be duplicates and glaring omissions - better choices exist depending on routes, distance and elevation gain:
1 Bridal Veil Falls
2 Dog Creek Falls
3 Dry Creek Falls
4 Eightmile Creek Falls
5 Elowah Falls
6 Fairy Falls
7 Hole-In-The-Wall Falls
8 Horsetail Falls
9 Latourell Falls
10 Loowit Falls
11 Metlako Falls
12 Mosier Creek Falls
13 Multnomah Falls
14 Oneonta Falls
15 Ponytail Falls
16 Punchbowl Falls
17 Rodney Falls
18 Shepperd's Dell Falls
19 Starvation Creek Falls
20 Triple Falls
21 Tunnel Falls
22 Upper Latourell Falls
23 Upper McCord Creek Falls
24 Wahclella Falls
25 Wahkeena Falls
26 Wiesendanger Falls
27 Ruckel Creek
28 Palisade(Crown) Falls
29 Upper Wahkeena
30 Dutchman
31 Ecola
32 Mist
33 Middle Oneonta
34 Cabin Creek
35 Lancaster
36 Munra

45 Grand Union Falls
46 Tunnel
47 Car Thief
48 Hole in the Wall
49 Lancaster
50 Pacific Crest Falls
1 Bridal Veil Falls

We never actually got around to doing it but the challenge is still there

Good stuff, Sean. I only wish I had the energy to do what you can do in a day!

Thanks guys, I appreciate your feedback. I suppose it's good to know I can still get the forum going better than a bag of dog poo(or at least close). Also glad to know Mayhem is still reading the boards and txting Eric about me
Bos - Thanks! I did use the flash for those(canon rebel) and thought they turned out pretty good. It must have been around 5 a.m.
I like pablo's list. Off the top of my head you could add Upper Bridal Veil, Nick Eaton Falls, Sevenmile Falls, Emerald and Gorton, Harrison Falls, Labyrinth Falls and if time/energy allowed a trip to Silver Falls for 9-10 more. I think I only missed 9-10 of the ones on Pablo's list and with a fair amount of extra driving could try and squeeze them all and a few more into a 24 hr window. It brings up an interesting question though, what actually constitutes "visiting" a waterfall? Can you count Metlako Falls, even though it's across the canyon and you're not swimming at the base or standing at the top? What about the four little falls on Munra Creek right above car thief? Lump them into the term cascade and call it one, or too small to be considered at all? Maybe its just a question of pre-determined guidelines by the individual.
