Devils Rest

Post by Elwedritsche » March 25th, 2017, 7:22 pm

Hiked Angels to Devils rest loop.
On the way from Angels Rest to Devils Rest muddy and occasionally boggy pools of water and streams turning trail into tiny river. Waterproof boots needed.
After Devils Rest to Wahkeena Trail noticeably colder - Found a few snow patches, easily navigable with boots.

Good to know. Thanks for posting an update. I'm making a mental list of the gorge hikes that are opening up and are still intact. at the end of this very snowy/wet winter.

I went to Devil's Rest today, but started from Wakheena Falls, then west on the Angel's Rest Trail and south up the Primrose Path. Then from Devil's Rest, I went south to Palmer Mill Road, east to Multnomah Basin Road, and jumped back to the Wakheena Trail and took that all the way back to the trailhead.

The only significant snow was on Palmer Mill Road, which had sections of snow 20-40 yards long and 6-18" deep. The only significant mud was in areas that are normally swampy. And all fallen trees had been cleared from the main trails. Hooray!
