Hillockburn Trail 3/19

Post by dohman » March 20th, 2017, 7:49 am

It was a beautiful day and I had never done this little trail. My friend convinced me to try it. I would not go back.

If you hike with a four legged friend be warned, the first 30 yards or so from the trailhead are COVERED in broken glass from irresponsible shooters. There is someone living at the trailhead in an old RV, that smells of garbage and human waste.

The trail was nice after we got away from the trailhead things were nice and forested, thick enough that even the sound of sporadic shooting couldn't be heard anymore. Lots of blow down. Which makes for a more exciting hike in my opinion. The dog enjoyed his run and dove straight into the river which scared the life out of me. He's just a pup and has no fear of anything. All in all it was a good walk, just severely marred by the condition of the trailhead.

No pics, we were kinda disheartened by the scumbags who have trashed the place.
