Jones Creek to Wolf Creek (Wilson River Trail) 2-12-17

We were looking just for some kind of normal hike without a lot of snow or debris and settled for this section of the Wilson River Trail. Beginning at the Jones Creek Trailhead, we were immediately notified that the trail was closed at the Jones Creek Bridge - except that the bridge itself was perfectly intact and only some railings after the footbridge were sliding into the river. The Tillamook Forest Center is closed this time of year, and there's a gate across the big bridge there, so we continued on to Wilson Falls and then the Footbridge area.
All the waterfalls (Wilson, Lower Bridge, and Bridge Creek Falls) were in good spate. We followed the trail on to Wolf Creek, where a sign told us the trail was closed between Wolf Creek and Cedar Butte Road because the Wolf Creek Bridge, a one log railed affair, had been taken out. The bridge gabions are still there, and you could ford the creek just upstream if you wanted: there's an alder down which would serve as a railing and the water is just over knee-deep. We decided not to douse ourselves, though, and called it a short day.
