Post by markesc » December 31st, 2016, 8:39 pm

Hello everyone!

A few from the refuge recently. Prettymuch the usual suspects!

Enjoy!

Like the pictures and will have to get back over there soon. Only have Tundra Swans on Mirror Pond here on the East Side. Still a lot of snow at Multnomah Falls on the trails.

Keep those updates coming. You get some great photo opts.

When was the last picture of the owl taken? I haven't seen either owl since the first week of October.

That one was on November 28th in the evening looking north from the tributary before the last bridge...really far away in the dark forest, so it was a challenge to get a decent handheld shot.

There are two owls that you'll hear around dusk. They'll hoot back n fourth at eachother, but I've not been able to spot either one. I believe they are hanging out in the trail that's now off limits that would lead you to the photo blind.

Yeah they're a challenge. I always ask people if they appear to have spotted something, or sometimes people will tell me where they are or when they've last been spotted and where. It's a fun challenge

I have a new mic on the way, so I hope to capture some good sound of them in the future!
