Clackamas River Trail

Post by heidilessick » January 1st, 2017, 11:42 am

For anyone heading up to hike the Clackamas River Trail/ Pup Creek Falls right now, please take precautions. Two of my friends and I went yesterday and started from the Indian Henry end. The hike was slow due to a lot of packed snow on the trail but very doable all the way to Pup Creek Falls. I would recommend Cramp Ons, which we did not have. The 3.6 miles from Pup Creek to Fish Creek is sketchy. On the up and downs the trail is very narrow and one new slide has washed out part of the trail. New trees are down and the snow made traversing so slippery a few of us (with less traction) had to crawl in several spots to avoid falling in the very steep places. Be cautious, people!!

Thanks. I was thinking about doing this hike today with my son. But, maybe not.
