Took a short sunny hike from Rainey Lake Campground up to the Gorton Creek trail junction to the guard station then back down to North Lake. The road from Dee to the campground is good if unmarked. Would not have made it without van Marmot's directions from awhile ago. About .3 miles from the campground the road is spectacularly bad with 18-24" deep ruts. Campground is nice, although you have to walk through campsite #2 to get to the Rainy Lake/North Lake trail. Easy hiking, rolling terrain.

Capped it off with a very short side trip to join the hordes at Kiyokawa getting apples.
